Weekend Sketch Challenge #67

I love the way this card turned out! Sorry about the blur on the Read Red DSP - couldn't seem to figure that one out! Anyway, I did this card for two challenges: Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge and Splitcoaststampers Tuesday Color Challenge (Kraft-Black-Red). My card base is done with Kraft CS, then a layer of Black CS, in which I used my Ticket Corner Punch on all four corners (I know, I just can't seem to get away from this punch!) I matted Real Red DSP onto Real Red CS. I stamped my image onto Kraft CS and layered it on Black CS (and again used that Ticket Corner Punch!) I water-colored my image and used my White Gel Pen to color the sheep. I added small white pearls from my Pretties Kit on the top corners of my stamped image and Black Gingham Ribbon to my Verse, which was stamped with Black ink on Kraft CS and layered onto Real Red CS. Enjoy!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #66

This card is made with the Pick A Petal stamp set and you won't believe all the awesome things you can do with it! I am guessing you may see more of this set soon! This was last weekend's Beate Sketch Challenge - so guess what? I am now caught up! Just have to work on this weekend's challenge! Okay - so I started with Gable Green for my card base and added a mat of Glorious Green. I stamped the image with Green Galore and used my Ticket Corner Punch then layered it onto a Green Galore mat. The words are stamped with Real Red and are from the Smarty Pants stamp set. I used Real Red DSP for the strip on my large mat and Real Red Brads for the accessories. I have seen this exclamation point used on many thank you cards! Hope you like this concept!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #65

This is really out of the box for me! Not sure if I really like the card (maybe it is too dark?) Anyway, I love this set and have been wanting to create with it for a few days now. This is Beate's WSC #65. The stamps I used are from ALWAYS stamp set. The card base is Not Quite Navy. The corner scallop is done with the BIG SHOT die and Not Quite Navy DSP. I stamped the Bird and leaves with Not Quite Navy ink onto Bashful Blue CS. I layered this onto a strip done with my Scallop Border Punch in Not Quite Navy and added a small strip of Going Gray just above the border. I layered this onto a panel of Kiwi Kiss and attached a Gray Taffeta Bow. One more sketch to do and I will finally be caught up! Thanks for looking!

Weekend Sketch challenge #64

This is Beate's WSC #64 (only two more to catch up!) Another design from my Punch Class - I started with a cardbase of Ivory Naturals CS and my panel is in Real Red CS I used my Big Shot to cut the reindeer ears. The reindeer face is made iwth the Designer Label Punch and the ears are done with the 5 Flower Punch, both with Creamy Carmel CS. I used the 1/4" Circle Punch for the nose and added eyes. I added the Real Red Striped Ribbon and finished the red panel with my Scallop Border Punch and Chocolate Chip CS- enjoy!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #63

Sorry - I am so far behind in my posting! I just love doing Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenges (even if it is the middle of the week when I get to them!) Anyway - let's see if I can get caught up - I am behind about 4 weeks I do believe (ugh!) So, here is the card I made for WSC#63. These challenges always seem to fit right in with my PUNCH CLASS! I started with a base of Kraft CS. A square of the More Mustard DSP, a strip of Chocolate Chip CS, and a bit of Carmel Gingham Ribbon. The layer behind the turkey is made using my BIG SHOT small scallop die and Kraft DSP. The turkey is done with the Scallop Circle Punch and pieces of Old Olive, Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip CS. The feet were made using my Boho Flower Punch - enjoy!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #62

This is the card I made for Beate's Weekend Sketch. I used a 3" x 6" card base of Bashful Blue. I stamped my image from Season of Simple Grace with Pacific Point Ink and the star with Bashful Blue Ink. I used Dazzling Diamonds Glitter on the baby and the star. You can't see it very well - but I added Clear Micro Beads on the edges of the Pacific Point Cardstock around my stamped image. I also covered by words with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and punched them out with the Wide Oval Punch. I then added a blue rhinestone brad to the center of the star by removing the prongs with scissors and adhering with a glue dot! I love this color combo and I hope you enjoy the card!

Weekend Sketch Challenge #61

Okay - I did it again! The 2nd. weekend in a row that I took the Beate's WSC! This card is why out of the elements for me! Not even sure if I really like it! I used the set "Season of Friendship" from the Holiday Mini Catalog - I just love this tree!! I started by stamping the tree trunk with Chocolate Chip ink. I used Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun, and Rose Red markers to ink the leaves. I then used my Coluzzle to cut the shape around the tree and mounted it to my card base, which is Pumpkin Pie. I used a 3/4" square punch and inserted these squares at an angle around the image shape. I then used my Large Circle Punch and Summer Sun cardstock - and also used the 3/4" square punch with Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red cardstock. I stamped my verse with chocolate chip and layered this across the circle. I mounted all this on the card with dimensionals. I then used my Crafter's Tool Kit to paper pierce - which is so much fun! Like I said - not really sure if I like the finished product - but it was fun doing something out of the ordinary for me!

Card Sketch Challenge

Good Morning!
Yesterday, while planning my Punch Class for tonight, I decided to use Beate's Weekend Sketch challenge for my last card. If you sometimes struggle with the layout of your card - this could be helpful to you also! Here is what the sketch for this past weekend looks like:

And, here is the card I came up with...

I made my card base with Tangerine Tango (a new in-color!) The bottom layer is a strip (4 1/4" x 1 1/4") of Haiku Designer Paper layered on So Saffron. The next layer is a strip (2" x 3 3/4") of Haiku Designer Paper also layered on So Saffron. The top layer is a 2" x 3" piece of Very Vanilla layered on Tangerine Tango. The pumpkins are also Tangerine Tango and I used my Large Oval Punch and sponged the edges with Creamy Carmel. The stem is done using the Horizontal Slot Punch and Chocolate Chip cs. I made the leaf with Old Olive cs and the 5-Petal Flower Punch-I cut one of the petals off the flower and scored it down the middle. I also distressed the edge of the cardstock surrounding my pumpkins, using one of the tools from my Cutter Kit. I applied the pumpkins to my card using, Dimensionals (can I make a card without using dimensionals-not!) and tucked a fold piece of 5/8" Striped Tangerine Tango Ribbon under it. I then used the mat, stencil, and piercing tool from my Crafter's Tool Kit to add holes in the corners around the pumpin and then around the layers in the card. Not real happy with the stamping I did, but those stamps are from Everyday Fleixble Phrases, and I used Chocolate Chip classic ink. And there you have it! Those of you coming to my Punch Class tonight - will be making this card!!!
