Day 12-16 Holiday Stampin'

I found these 5"x5" shadowboxes on a road trip that I took with a fellow demonstrator a year ago last summer at a dollar store - love those $1.00 items! When I first seen these orgiami trees, I just knew it would look great in this shadowbox! I used the Holiday Treasures DSP, Chocolate Chip Cardstock, Gold & Silver Metallic Cardstock, and Riding Hood Red Cardstock. The half pearl on the star is from my Pretties Kit. I used my "Big Shot" and the Cheers die for the joy and tied Riding Hood Red Tafetta Ribbon around it. I used my Photo Corners Punch with Riding Hood Red Cardstock for the bottom left corner piece and the piercing tool from my Crafter's Tool Kit (but you can't really see the holes I made in this picture!) The oval was done with my Coluzzle and white mulberry paper. Enjoy and have a Happy Saturday!

Days 7-11 Holiday Stampin'

Sorry I have not posted for a few days - my father was admitted into the Toledo University Medical Center last week and that has really consumed my time. They have found a mass around his liver and we are waiting for results from further tests. It is a very emotional time as this is the same hospital (and same floor) that my mother passed away at, just 7 weeks ago.
I made this tutorial last month (it was actually a gift I gave to my sister for having Thanksgiving dinner at her house!) and thought this would be a good time to get it posted. I hope you enjoy it and find that it is a fun and easy gift that anyone would enjoy! Be sure to send me pictures of what you make using this tutorial - I love seeing other's creativity too!

Monogram Box with Cards:

Supplies for Cards
4 sheets (8 ½” x 5 ½”) of cardstock – cut in half horizontally
Designer Series Paper – cut 8 pieces: 5 ½” x 2 ½”
Ribbon: 8 pieces: 6” 8 pieces: 3”

Step #1: Fold ½ sheet of cardstock in half and adhere strip of DSP on the top of your card.

Step #2: Adhere the 6” piece of ribbon across the border of the DSP (with the 3” piece of ribbon layered under it)

Step #3: Tie the 3” piece of ribbon together to form your bow. (Great & simple way to make many cards quickly- ready to stamp with a greeting)

Step #4: I then stamped a letter on a piece of scrap whisper white cardstock. I used my 1 ¼” circle punch. I then punched a piece of Kiwi Green CS with my 1 3/8” circle punch and layered this on a piece of Riding Hood Red CS that was punched with the Scallop Circle Punch. I used my piercing tool to pierce holes in each scallop. I layered this on my card and it is a finished monogram notecard!

Now for the box!

Supplies
2 sheets of Cardstock
1 yard of Ribbon
Scraps of coordinating cardstock and Designer Series Paper

Step #1: Cut box base 8 3/8 x 7 – score all 4 sides at 1 ¼” Cut box top 8 ½ x 7 1/8 – score all 4 sides at 1 ¼”

Step #2: Cut slits where the box will bold to form your tabs. Add adhesive – (I used Sticky Strip because I want my box to stay together!) to your tabs as shown in the photo on the RIGHT SIDE of the box.

Step #3: You can leave your box plain OR – you can add some DSP – NOW IS THE TIME FOR THAT – before you adhere your box into shape.

I cut my DSP as follows to decorate my box:
2 side strips of DSP: 1”x 5 7/8”
2 top/bottom strips of DSP: 1” x 4 ½”
1 DSP for top of box: 4 ½” x 5 7/8”
This is my box with 8 cards inside:

This is my finished box closed:

Day 6 of Holiday Stampin'

Altered Corkboard - I purchased these 4" square corkboards some time ago for just one dollar each. I love deal like this! I took a 6"x6" piece of chipboard and covered it with the Holiday Treasures DSP. Wrapped Riding Hood Red Tafetta Ribbon around the bottom. The verse if from the Holiday Mini Catalog - Season of Friendship stamp set. I stamped that in Riding Hood Red ink on Whisper White cardstock and mounted it onto Riding Hood Red cardstock and used my Scallop Border Punch on the bottom. I covered the push pins and added a scallop circle to the top and some post it notes to the side. Another quick and easy gift to make! Let me know if you make one!

Day 5 of Holiday Stampin'

A very quick post for you today - just have too much to get done today!! (I know you probably have that feeling also!) Today's post is an oldie, but always fun. It is done with a Jiffy Pop Container and the Holiday Treasures DSP. I also used the Big Shot Snowflake Die. Not only does it make a easy quick gift but can also be a decoration to hang on a door, wall, etc. Enjoy!

JOCIEL'S SPECIAL OFFERS:

  • COUNTRY LIVING HOLIDAY KIT - 20% OFF UNTIL DEC. 7TH.

Another use of my Country Living Holiday Collection Kit! This stocking can be used as a Gift Card Holder AND a Tree Ornament! I used Whisper White Vellum Cardstock for my stocking and stamped the large and small snowflakes with White Craft ink. Be sure to let that dry well (I was in a hurry and used my heat tool!) While this was drying, I also stamped my enjoy with Riding Hood Red ink on a piece of scrap vellum cardstock - so it could dry as well! When the red was dry, I used a Black Stampin' Write Marker to ink and stamp my to and from - then set it aside to dry. (NOTE: Vellum is not as porous as regular cardstock and therefore even your classic ink pads take time to dry once stamped.) I cut a piece of the Ski Slope DSP and used my Scallop Border Punch on the bottom for the top of my stocking. I stamped the greeting with black and used the Whisper White Tafetta Ribbon at the top. After the ink dried on my stocking, I used my Crafter's Tool Kit -to pierce holes around the stocking and my needle with Silver Cord to lace the stocking together, then adhered the top to the stocking. I used my 1 3/4" Circle Punch and punched out "enjoy", then inserted a Clear Rhinestone Brad in the center of the "o". I then adhered that to the heel of the stocking with a Dimensional. I used the piercing tool to make a hole in the top right of my stocking and Silver Cord to make a hanger for the stocking.
EVERYTHING USED IN THIS PROJECT CAME FROM THE COUNTRY LIVING HOLIDAY COLLECTION STAMPIN' KIT except for: Crafter's Tool Kit - 1 3/4" Circle Punch - Scallop Border Punch and the Whisper White Vellum Cardstock, and black ink.

Sunday afternoons are great for stampin' don't you agree? It is not too late to make some Christmas Cards and the COUNTRY LIVING HOLIDAY COLLECTION KIT is great for this too! I made this card using that kit. I started with a card base of Old Olive cardstock, and a mat of Whisper White cardstock- the 1" strip on the top is from the Ski Slope DSP (also included in the kit). I used my Scallop Edge Border Punch on the bottom of this strip. I stamped my snowflake, enjoy, and star (from the kit) with my White Craft ink spot and then embossed with white embossing powder on scraps of Pacific Blue, Riding Hood Red, and Summer Sun cardstock. I then used my 1 3/4" Circle Punch to make my ornaments.
I applied Dazzling Diamonds Glitter around the edge of my ornaments with Liquid Glue and used the silver cord to make the ornament hangers. I dressed the ornaments up with the Clear Rhinestone Brads.

The only things I used that were not from the kit: Scallop Border Punch- 1 3/4" Circle Punch and the cardstock to make the card - EVERYTHING ELSE CAME FROM THE KIT!

Day 2 of Holiday Stampin'!

Yesterday was a shopping day - so is today the day to decorate your tree? If so, you are going to love making this beautiful ornament to hang or your tree OR give as a gift! I took a regular glass bulb purchased from a craft store and added some fake snow inside. I then took some Flashing Tape and ran that thru my Big Shot with the Cheer Decorate Strip Die. (NOTE: Be sure to lay the silver side of the tape face down on your die!)

I then cut apart the words and removed the backing and adhered this to the OUTSIDE of my bulb.

Next, I stamped my dove image on some acetate with BLACK STAZ-ON ink and after the ink was dry, I used my COLUZZLE to cut a circle.

I then smooshed my stamped image (face up) in my VERSAMARK ink pad and covered it completely on the back side. I added IRIDESCENT ICE embossing powder and heated (carefully!) with my heat tool. I layed this on a piece of color cardstock so that you could see how it looked.

I then punched a hole in the top of the acetate circle with my 1/16" Punch and inserted SILVER CORD. Added the cap back to the bulb and silver organdy ribbon tied in a bow. Awesome - don't you think?
